How To Leverage Your Expertise And Create An Evergreen Sales Funnel with Kathleen Celmins
My guest on this week’s podcast is Kathleen Celmins, the founder and CEO of The Well-Paid Expert. Kathleen has over two decades of work in leadership, sales, lead generation, and marketing and has worked with Fortune 500 companies to build profitable product offers, built and sold two businesses, and now works to help entrepreneurs find their ripe ideas ready to be picked and put to work as a passive product offer, leveraging the expertise they already have.
This was a really fun episode because you get to hear her live coaching me about my offers and how to create an evergreen sales funnel in my business.
We talked through a few different offer options like Cohort vs Open enrollment.
Kathleen said “One of the things that I see people hesitating with a group model on is do I do my group offer cohort based or do I have everybody start at the same time? I would say no to having people wait - busy maxed out people don't want to wait for a solution.”
“So it’s great when your offer is rolling because we might not all overlap for the same 3 months, but they don't care because their problems are getting solved.”
Things to consider when you’re coming up with a guarantee
Kathleen shared that what you want to do with a guarantee is make your potential clients feel safe because, often, the people who are buying from you don't know, like, or trust you yet.
They see an ad, maybe they see you out, out in the wild, on LinkedIn, and they think that your offer might be something that can work for them. But they need a guarantee to help remove their doubt or concern. It shows you’re confident in your offer and that they can trust you to provide a solution.
What else can you offer?
“If you’re a web designer, maybe you can teach people who can't afford your high-end web design packages your design process. Offer to peel back the layers and guide somebody through your thought process without having to actually work on their stuff. Because there are people who have time and there are people who have a budget, and they are not the same person. And usually, I use the analogy of a famous cookbook or a famous chef writing a cookbook. It does not decrease reservations at the restaurant. Don't even worry about that.
